As a photographer based on the Riviera, I regularly help clients plan and capture proposals across the region. Over the years I’ve seen what works best, and these are some of the most beautiful and memorable places to propose along the coast.
Èze – A Classic Riviera Proposal Location
The hilltop village of Èze is one of the most iconic places on the French Riviera. Sitting high above the Mediterranean, it offers incredible panoramic views and a wonderfully romantic atmosphere.
Many couples choose to propose here because the scenery is so spectacular. Quiet corners of the village and viewpoints along the stone pathways create beautiful, intimate moments overlooking the sea.
After the proposal, the village itself provides the perfect setting for relaxed photographs together as you wander through the charming streets.
Tête de Chien – The Most Dramatic View on the Riviera
If you're looking for a truly breathtaking setting, Tête de Chien is hard to beat.
High above Monaco, this viewpoint offers one of the most incredible panoramic views on the entire Riviera. From here you can see Monaco below, the coastline stretching towards Italy and the Mediterranean shimmering in the distance.
Sunset proposals here are particularly special, with the light across the coastline creating a dramatic and unforgettable atmosphere.
Monaco – Elegant and Timeless
For couples looking for something refined and elegant, Monaco offers beautiful settings for a proposal.
The gardens overlooking the harbour, quiet terraces along the coastline and the classic Riviera architecture create a timeless atmosphere. With the yachts in the harbour and the Mediterranean beyond, the setting feels effortlessly romantic.
Monaco works particularly well for couples who enjoy a slightly more sophisticated Riviera experience.
